What's the difference between believing in Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, God, the Boogeyman and leprechauns
The difference is that we do not have to believe one way or the other about S. Claus, the Tooth Fairy, the Boogeyman or leprechauns. We can have opinions but not a belief.
We must hold a belief about God, either that He exists or that He does not exist because we must live our lives. Either choice is equally unprovable.
We choose on the basis of our hope for ultimate happiness. I choose to seek God because I have a hope to find the love that I think He must have for us. Others choose to reject God because they have a hope to live their lives independent of any authority telling them how to live their lives.
The only difference is the GOD is the only one that is real.
woah atheists are having an orgy here.
the difference would be lipstick
you're only going to meet one of them when you die
I have to doubt that since belief in santa and the tooth fairy are for a short time only, there is little chance that a short period believing in them has ever caused one to lose their ability to think. On the other hand belief in the other three that you mentioned is known to cause mental illness and we can see that almost everyday.
no difference .
People do not kill each other over the Tooth Fairy (except in Terry Pratchett is books)
Only God has a big book called the bible decidated to him.
Well, the only name out of place for me is ''the Boogeyman''
When I was raising my children Santa Claus was full of love & happiness, the tooth Fairy always left a little surprise under the pillow (happiness) ''God was always connected to positive & loving words & actions & leprechauns (because I am of Irish descent) were cute green, happy, dancing little green men, who sang & danced in the forest.
The Boogeyman on the other hand, was never used with my children, because the word would have scared them, made them uneasy & filled them with fear.
Bit of a difference is not there?
Santa Claus, the Tooth fairy, the Boogieman, and leprechauns make more sense.
Santa brings presents, the tooth fairy brings money, God brings everything else you do not ever want to deal with. At least you get to drink wine while worshiping them all.
ummm
they each have a different purpose?
lol
Institutions that try to spread belief in god(s) get tax exemptions.
santa claus gives me presents if i believe in him :)
and so does the tooth fairy. come to think of it so do leprechauns if i get to the end of their rainbows.
looks like the boogey man and god got the short end of the stick there..
There is none.
Well at least Santy-Clause gives me pwesents.
Santa has the coolest hat, and is therefore more likely to be real.
Santa is got a bigger fan club.
There is more cultural evidence for Santa than the other three combined.
They're not as powerful as the Flying spaghetti monster.
