Present your best empirical evidence.

Is belief in God analogous to a child believing in the Tooth Fairy

I find that people who attack those who believe in God are bitter militants who seek some kind of ego-stroking affirmation of their own lack of faith. bless their little hearts!

I see a lot of atheists seeking anti-religious echo-chamber responses to gratify themselves; very little of the reverse.

Why do atheists need this affirmation? It is pathetic!

Is belief in God analogous to a child believing in the Tooth Fairy

.Nope. The tooth fairy is phoney baloney.
.Evidence for the existence of God is abundant & varied. Look outside at all creation, & then into a clear night sky, then keep on lying to yourself by saying, ''This orderly universe just happened, by mistake, evolution, chance, & natural selection.'' - And then feel real pity for those who believe this, & pray that God, who created all these wonders, will open their eyes to His truth, that they would trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord & Savior.

Is belief in God analogous to a child believing in the Tooth Fairy

If you do not believe in God, that is your prerogative, but do not question someone else is beliefs. That is just immature and absurd. The proof is if you chose to believe.

Is belief in God analogous to a child believing in the Tooth Fairy

Belief in God is a rational approach to explaining the unexplainable. We as a species have believed in a Higher Power of one variety or another for all of our recorded history.

There r now some people who choose to believe that all the unexplainable things that we find in our environment have explanations, like the big bang.

The tooth fairy is a way for parents to celebrate a landmark in their child is life. It rewards the child for growing up, & tells the child that this is something to be celebrated. A magical acknowledgment of this event makes it more special.

A better comparison is between the God that we acknowledge now versus the Sun God, or other natural type Deities of the past.

Is belief in God analogous to a child believing in the Tooth Fairy

Depends on your ''why'' list. I do not have enough ''faith'' to believe all came from absolute nothing and everything that has order came from total disorder without touch. Hope you do not allow people to make you dis believe what you see, its hard to ignore.

Is belief in God analogous to a child believing in the Tooth Fairy

The tooth fairy did not leave any other indication that they r real other then when they left a quarter under my pillow..and I kinda think mom did that & not really a tooth fairy..
GOD on the other hand DID leave proof. He left His word for us in the Holy Bible.if u truly study the Holy Bible u will see history.you will see things happening today in it.and u will see things of the future in it..you will see how God ties everything together in the Holy Bible to one who studies the entire bible.and u will come to realize that no man or group of men could possibly write such a book WITHOUT God & tie it all together without a flaw!!.people have throughout history been trying to disprove the bible..but so far they have not .and science is proving it more & more as we become more & more advanced in science knowledge.

Is belief in God analogous to a child believing in the Tooth Fairy

They've got children believing in what they want to believe in. Frankly I think it confuses them. What do u expect with the fact that government has taken prayer out of schools? The mere mention of God has become taboo in everyday conversation. The phrase ''under God'' has been dleted from the pledge of allegiance. it is no wonder the world has been turned upside down, so-to-speak. Yet, Congress has prayer in their sessions. They must think they r special in God is eyes or something. What r we, chopped liver?

Is belief in God analogous to a child believing in the Tooth Fairy

Belief in God is covered under the US Constitution. Tooth fairies are not. Real people have died because of their belief in God, not so much with the tooth fairy crowd.

Is belief in God analogous to a child believing in the Tooth Fairy

Perhaps, I am not religious but I also will not bash or tell those that are that their beliefs are meaningless. Just the same as I wo not tell a child that there is no tooth fairy. Something to believe in whether fiction or not is not a bad thing. Its just bad that religion has been used as such a force of tyranny.

Is belief in God analogous to a child believing in the Tooth Fairy

Religion translates into mind control and mind control translates into a none productive docile working class who look forward to the after life .

A huge apathetic group who are more concerned about who is doing what with whom and how they can stop them .

analogous: similar or equivalent in some respects though otherwise dissimilar

So yes, they are both similar in some aspects. The trust that a being exists without actually having seen it themselves.

I think God and Jesus are just imaginary friends for adults to help them face their fear of death. Humans have a big problem with things we do not know.

Is belief in God analogous to a child believing in the Tooth Fairy

The archaeological evidence alone supports the Bible. Moreover, the science of statistical probability as concerns prophecy coming true years after it was foretold in the Bible exceeds ones imagination. I urge you to set out to disprove the Bible and see what you come up with.

Is belief in God analogous to a child believing in the Tooth Fairy

Yes! They both rely on ''belief''. ;-)=

Is belief in God analogous to a child believing in the Tooth Fairy

Yes, gods are just Santa Claus for adults. Of course, people do not kill for Santa unlike most religious followers. There is no evidence that any god or gods exist. And if they do, they are derelicts who are unworthy of our attention much less worship.

Is belief in God analogous to a child believing in the Tooth Fairy

No proof of either exists.

Is belief in God analogous to a child believing in the Tooth Fairy

People will say their is no proof for God just as their is not any for the tooth fairy but they are wrong. With all of our scientific advances have we proven with out a shadow of a doubt that their is no God and this is all an accident? No if anything science has brought up more questions, and some of these questions seem to point to God

No; it is analogous to believing in God. It is what it is, and there is a further distinction between ''belief'' and ''faith.''

Try to ask this in Religion & Spirituality.
